At first, like any new venture that your child likes to get
started with, we were a little skeptical, but because Henry
already had a friend there, we decided to give Andrew Gause's
Martial Arts (formerly Mountain Kim Martial Arts) and Taekwondo
a chance.
We have always thought that Henry was already a well-behaved boy, but
taking lessons at Andrew Gause's Martial Art sand participating in their
after-school program has just reinforced that behavior. We have had
the opportunity to view the classes, training, and exams and it is quite clear to me that
Instructor Andrew has a keen grasp of what I would call classroom management.
There
is obvious respect between the students and all of the instructors. This
one ingredient helps create a safe and calm environment for the students
to learn in. The staff's professional demeanor and attention
to detail ensure that every student is given the
proper guidance, mentoring, and instruction they require.
As for our son, Henry is proud of all of his accomplishments,
but I
think he's especially proud of those he makes in Taekwondo. Progressing
from one belt to the next gives him a strong sense of self-accomplishment. Even
when he doesn't earn a "tip" he's
not
discouraged because he knows that it's not a sign of failure, but an
opportunity to return and try harder the next time.
From an administrative standpoint, Andrew Gause's Martial Arts does an
excellent
job
of
communicating with us, the parents, and keeping us informed of changes to schedules
and any
upcoming events. They're especially good at reminding us what to do during
inclement weather and possible school closings if your child is part of their
after-school program.
We, the parents of Henry Clune, and Henry himself, strongly endorse the
Andrew Gause's Martial Arts program
at Ravensworth Shopping Center and look forward to many more years of
continued success there.
Respectfully,s
Shawn & Gina Clune
(Proud parents of Henry Clune)
