Overview

Perhaps our most innovative children’s program is our After School Martial Arts Program (AMP). 

The AMP Program is the culmination of years of experience working with children, coupled with the need for exciting and constructive after school activities for children in grades K thru 6. Please read on to discover more about our exciting AMP Program, and how your child can join us for a confidence building school year! 

This innovative program offers children grades K thru 6 an exciting alternative to standard after school day-care. Our program is affordable, fun, and educational. 

A Typical Day

We will pick your child up at school and transport them to the Andrew Gause's Martial Arts dojang - located in the Ravensworth Shopping Center, Springfield, Virginia (just minutes from Annandale, Burke and West Springfield). and Fairfax Station Square Shopping Center (just minutes from Burke, Clifton and Fairfax).

Each session begins with us providing transportation (you may have seen our bus)  from your child’s school to our facility. Days are filled with indoor sports, arts & crafts, constructive games, character building exercises, and professional martial arts instruction.

After a fun and challenging Taekwondo class we provide structured “down time” for individual work and quiet
activities. The day winds down with pick up hours from 5:15 pm – 6:15pm. As an added convenience the program offers full day activities on teacher work days and school half days at no extra charge.

Taekwondo Classes

The most important aspect of the AMP Program is the traditional martial arts instruction that each student receives. Career black belt instructors teach the Taekwondo based classes. 

Our classes focus on clearly defined curriculum that is arranged so each student can set goals, train to achieve them, and experience consistent progress. Students can expect improvements in coordination, overall physical fitness, concentration skills, and mental discipline. The martial arts instruction also offers valuable self-defense skills and instills self-confidence and personal pride.

*We accept all students... If your child does not attend one of the schools listed above, they can still attend. Drop-offs and pick-ups welcomed. We'll greet your child and let them know when you have arrived for dismissal. 

Activities and Extended Days

Students partake in fun filled days with diverse activities in addition to their martial arts training, including; kids’ movies on our indoor movie theater and exciting indoor games. 

We also like to express our creative side and encourage any aspiring artist with plenty of arts and crafts activities. Whether students are enjoying an exciting movie on our indoor movie theater, a day of indoor games, or drawing a futuristic NASA spaceship, you can be sure your child will have a great time with the varied after school activities available. 

Professional Staff

Our dedicated professional staff is focused on providing an exciting and safe environment for all of our AMP students. We pride ourselves on providing a fun atmosphere that is focused on personal growth for each student. Our AMP Program is well staffed with career martial arts instructors, senior staff members, program managers, and assistants. We strive to help each student grow as a martial artist and as a young person.

Accommodations

Our activity room offers students the perfect environment for learning and play. The room is equipped with all sorts of things for the student to discover. Students have full access to board games, art & craft materials, books, kids movies, video game stations… and the list goes on! A few short steps from the activity room is our spacious work out floor. The work out floor is fully matted, offering the perfect environment for students to exercise and practice their martial art skills. 

Before Taekwondo class we use the same matted area as a safe environment for indoor games and sports. Each student is also provided a storage space for their equipment, snacks, and book bag. Whether enjoying an exciting indoor game, practicing their latest martial arts form, or getting some down time to read a favorite book, Students will find our facilities the perfect environment for learning and fun.
